Dev Note on Controls:
The controls are a little nuanced, and are best thought of as an attempt at further gamifying the experience of messing with a cat using a laser pointer; the more you jitter it, the faster the cat makes a move on it. By default, the laser pointer takes 2.5 seconds to fully capture Oscar's attention if you only hold down the mouse and don't move (as indicated by a slowly enclosing red circle). Once it does, Oscar jumps towards it. Behind the scenes, time is taken away from that timer proportional to the difference of the mouse position between frames. As an experiment, try holding down left click, and swiping across the screen. Though you won't have much control over where Oscar jumps toward, he should do so almost immediately. Wiggling the mouse should give the benefit of control and charge efficiency.
Hope that clarifies things a bit, and Happy Hunting!

---------------------------------------------------------------

Oscar, once an apex predator, has been struck deaf. No longer able to detect his prey, he now relies on the one thing that has always alluded him: a laser pointer.

Use your beacon of guiding light [Hold Left-Click] to provoke Oscar into pouncing mice as they're hurled through the floorboards by the traps. If you really want to get his attention, give your laser a little jiggle.

Oscar spends energy to pounce, and regains it when he captures mice. Run out of energy, and Oscar will take a little catnap to restore it, leaving him vulnerable.

Avoid Plague Mice, which will cost Oscar 1 of his 9 lives. Run out of those, and it's game over. For the same reasons, Watch out for Waffles the Watchdog; he may be blind, but he can still bite!
